Shoes of the week
I know this is a fashion blog (trust me--I started it), but it's also about fashion as it relates to my life. Which is why this week's shoes of the week are Grishko 2007 pointe shoes. They're a bitch to break in (if you get the medium shanks), but I've never danced in anything more flattering.
They are definitely the good kind--not necessarily recommended for beginning students, but awesome if you demand a lot from your shoes (if, of course, Grishko's fit your feet well ;) )
It's tough, but it's totally gratifying, too. And pointe shoes are lovely, though they don't make your feel look too fabulous once they're off. . . hehe. WORTH IT!
How funny. I just stumbled upon your blog (I love finding new fashion blogs I haven't seen before) and the Grishkos caught my eye. I use to wear Grishkos back in the day - they made my feet look horrible, but I love how strong and solid they felt. My pointe days are long over, but I wish you all the best!
My cousin used to dance. She wants me to start, so she can live through me. Those are nice, though, the good kind. And an awesome price!

ReplyDeleteI am considering taking ballet classes just for the fashion. Is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteNot if it brings you stylish joy!
ReplyDeleteGrishko Vaganova wearer here! And I also take a medium shank due to extreme arches. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!!! A nice pair of Fashion Shoes I would love to wear... what else to say...
ReplyDeleteI have worn these for at least six years! I love them, but I always get the soft shank.
